While at Amgen, Dr. Buchholz was involved in the development & implementation of a "new manager mentoring" program which was very well received by new managers.  New managers were paired with experienced managers who provided managerial expertise as well as moral support in a confidential environment.  The Management Mentoring program offered by Blue Ridge Consulting is an extension of that very same idea - provide a readily-available resource for new managers to learn from, bounce ideas off of, and get peer support that they might not otherwise get internally.  Let's face it - we all have times when we need a trusted peer to talk to, someone who understands the situation and can provide an objective opinion, help mold our thinking, and share their real life experiences in similiar situations.

If you're a relatively new manager in a small or startup company, this program may provide you with the support you need.  There is no long-term commitment - you simply pay for the contact time you use and you decide when and how much contact time you need.  Time is billed on a quarter-hour basis to encourage you to pick up the phone when you have a need for short consultations without the fear of breaking your budget!
