Blue Ridge Consulting of Charlottesville VA was started by Dr. Kenneth Buchholz in June 2001 to provide very affordable management consulting services to individuals as well as organizations.  Dr. Buchholz has over 25 years management experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organization fields.  Working in highly regulated environments, he managed a diversity of organizational sizes and structures from small startup companies to large departments and divisions within large corporations.  This experience is now available to help you build the effective management skills you require for success.

What We Do & Don't Do

Management Services...

Blue Ridge Consulting provides three different types of services custom tailored to your needs:

• Small interactive group, classroom-type training seminars to build various management skill sets (e.g., effective project management; setting goals and evaluating performance)
• One-on-one consultations to address specific needs or specific issues (e.g., assistance in developing a budget, developing a performance plan for an under-performing staff member, or guidance in developing Standard Operating Procedures for your organization)
• Management Mentoring - an experienced resource you can call to ask a question or bounce an idea off of, on an as-needed basis.

Unlike many other consultants, our one-on-one consultations and Management Mentoring programs are meant to be interactive, dynamic and confidential.  If you've dealt with other consultants before, you may have experienced the scenario where the consultant comes and listens to you, then goes away and develops an independent "solution", which is a repackaging of canned training modules and Powerpoint presentations, usually in the format of a very large tome (to justify their high fees).  You are then left alone to read and digest the solution at your own leisure.  If this is your expectation, then Blue Ridge Consulting is not for you.

Blue Ridge Consulting provides it's experience and expertise in the pharmaceutical industry to assist managers in making mission critical decisions.  Blue Ridge Consulting is not a contract research organization for outsourcing project work, although we can assist you in selecting the best CRO for your needs!
